2024: What a Pawsome Year it Has Been!
As we look back on 2024, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude for the incredible community that makes Gillian's Greyhound Adoption (GGA) possible. From racing tracks to sandy beaches, classrooms to blood donation clinics, this year has been packed with adventures, education, and heartwarming moments—all thanks to YOU.
Whether you adopted, fostered, volunteered, donated, or simply cheered us on, you’ve helped us prove that greyhounds are so much more than fast—they’re the fastest way to our hearts. Because of your support, these amazing retired athletes have found forever homes, made lasting memories, and showcased their incredible versatility and charm.
As we prepare to sprint into 2025, we’re already dreaming of new ways to share our love for these incredible dogs. Stay tuned to changes coming to the GGA team, a "Heart All Over The Continent" auction, meet and greets, social events, the Global Greyhound Walk and much much more. But before we head out of the starting box, we want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU. Your dedication, enthusiasm, and love for greyhounds fuel everything we do—and make it so much fun along the way.
Here’s to another year of wagging tails, zoomies, and happy endings. Let’s make 2025 just as pawsome!

GGA Out and About
2024 was an exciting and productive year for GGA, filled with opportunities to showcase the incredible retired greyhounds in our care. From sponsoring races and attending educational events to engaging in community outreach and supporting veterinary education, GGA embraced a full calendar of meaningful activities.
In April, GGA participated in the National Oval Track Racing Association (NOTRA) 2nd Annual Sunflower Stake Derby. While Gillian had the oppotunity to line judge, GGA Staffers Elsa (Final Approval), Minnie (Ucme Ss Minnow), Sugar (Barts Sugarsnack) and Clark (Amf Odd Doctor) enjoyed a nostalgic moment running on the historic Abilene Greyhound Park racetrack. It didn't take long for Faulty (Clonlost Faulty) to remember the sights and sounds of the racetrack, and showed off her disc herniation and spinal stroke rehabilitation with a roll around the final turn.
June saw GGA at the final Heart of America Greyhound Gathering. This three-day event offered valuable education and hands-on experiences in the greyhound industry. Activities included morning schooling, lure training, and panel discussions. Gillian presented on “Spinal Strokes and Stopper Bones” and joined a panel on greyhound racing ownership, with a special highlight on Staffer Minnie’s ‘All Canadian Pet’ award following a short racing career.
The Fall Tour kicked off with GGA traveling to Massachusetts for the Greyhound Pets of America - Massachusetts (GPA-MA) Annual Reunion. GGA Staffer Faulty, a proud GPA-MA alumna, was crowned Queen, while Minnie charmed attendees at the mobile Kissing Booth. Gillian captivated audiences with her presentation, “Faulty Towers with a Touch of Sugar: Spinal Strokes," which showcased Faulty's remarkable recovery. Continuing south, GGA joined the Greyhound Pet Adoptions of Delaware's (GPAD) Greyhounds Reach the Beach (GRtB) event in Rehoboth Beach. From beach walks and vending to consulting and presenting, it was a lively and engaging experience for all. Heading west, GGA wrapped up the tour at the NGA Fall National Meet, enjoying more racing, auctions, and shopping. GGA and Wilkens Acres sponsored the Senior Two Flite II race, with Xt's Deere taking the win.
GGA also proudly supported the Canadian Animal Blood Bank in 2024. GGA Staffers Elsa, Minnie, Sugar, and Clark stepped up to donate, helping other canines in need by “rolling up their collars” to give the gift of life.
